Eat, Drink and Shop
Rule number one: comfortable shoes, Polignano was not meant for stiletto.
Roman Era cobblestones and Medieval limestone slabs are everywhere.
Consider walking everywhere in town and park your car at the parking lots at the outskirts of town (follow the signs that say “Parcheggio”).
Here’s a short list of our favorite spots to eat, drink and shop:
Eat
RUZ Cucina Confidenziale
We love to stop by several times a week. The cuisine is traditional Pugliese, the drinks are great, the staff is fantastic!
Osteria dei Mulini
Classic osteria inside the town walls, we love the location for a quiet lunch or dinner, their Pugliese wine selection.
They have just a few seats so make sure you book as soon as possible, also they don’t really take large parties
PURO
If you can’t make it through the week without sushi go visit them, the absolute best Japanese restaurant in Puglia and beyond probably. Also, they have a great international wine list.
La Bella ‘Mbriana
Very central iconic location and great pizza!
PiGa
Great italian steakhouse with outdoor dining, gets booked up fast.
Il Mago del Gelato
Polignano is famous for the gelato making, go there and enjoy their fantastic gelato (they are famous for the coffee flavor) and granite (wild mulberry granita is available in June only!). Also, ask them for the Caffe’ Speciale (not for kids).
Drink
Casa del Mojito
I know, Mojito doesn’t sound very Italian!
But you have to try their mojitos!!!
Fantastic spot, super crowder with locals in a little alley in the old part of Polignano. You’ll see us there religiously!
Malidea
Great spot for all your classic cocktails, this waterfront spot is run by one the most talented bartenders in Puglia.
The man knows his tequilas and Mezcals. You guessed it, we’ll be here a lot!
Moonshine
Great spot for snack and drinks in S.Vito’s area, outside the town. You can get there by car (less than 5 mins), walking from Polignano along the Adriatic (45 minutes) or with a pedicab (they’re called Calessini in Polignano).
